Campaign Finance Reform - Currently, Illinois pays billions for overpriced contractors who turn around and donate tens of millions of taxpayer dollars to politicians who protect them. This wasted money causes us to pay higher taxes for inadequate and overpriced services. The only way to stop corruption in Illinois to change our campaign finance system.

Property Tax Reform - There are thousands of taxing bodies in Illinois. This causes inefficiency, an expensive duplication of services, and uncoordinated regional planning. A single state-wide property tax would allow suburban home owners to tap into downstate industry and downtown corporations to reduce our tax burden by forcing others to pay their fair share.

Comprehensive Transportation Planning - Bad planning by public officials has caused new subdivisions to be built without the expansion of nearby thoroughfares. This has caused incredible traffic delays on Routes 45, 83, and 120. A lack of sufficient state funding for Metra causes switching problems and mechanical breakdowns. This causes Round Lake and Grayslake Commuters major delays as they sit on idle trains and wait for emergency repairs to be made. New roads must be built, old roads must be expanded, and Metra should receive additional funding for badly needed repairs.

Deficit and Debt Reduction - In 2009, Illinois faced a 12 billion dollar shortfall and had over 116 billion dollars of unfunded debt. Over the past 30 years politicians have reduced taxes on the wealthy and increased government spending causing us to borrow massive sums of money and to pay interest on top of interest to keep the government operating. Their short-term popular proposals are fiscally irresponsible in the long-term and cause us to pay more for the important infrastructure that Illinois needs to maintain its competiveness in global marketplace.

2nd Amendment Rights - The liberty to own and maintain a firearm is one of our sacred rights. It is important to make sure that criminals be prohibited from obtaining a gun, but imposing additional restrictions on law abiding citizens will not solve the problem of gun violence. We need stronger enforcement of laws that already exist, not additional prohibitions.
